In 2016, I used to know there was a kpop group named BTS. But I only know that BTS exists, like any other kpop group. BTS is familiar to my ears, but I dunno every name of them, how many members they have, and for me they’re just like any other kpop group. Nothing special.
I never watched their MV even though kpop mv are often trending in Youtube Indonesia. But at the end of 2018, I saw “Youtube Rewind 2018” and they put BTS’s song there. It’s “Idol”. There R several comment from BTS fans who mention, why Youtube didn’t include BTS at there and just put their song instead.
So… I immediately saw the MV of “Idol”. I wanted to know what the mv was like until they had a lot of fans.
My 1st impression after watching their MV is that they’ve a unique concept and they’re different from other kpop groups. So, I thought that’s their charm. But, after watching it I found another video from UNICEF where BTS gave a speech there. Their chairman, RM spoke very well in english and the content of his speech was very positive. I realize that BTS has so much power and influence that United Nations chose them to spread a positive message. But after seeing it all, I wasn’t one of their fans yet.
Seconds of being a BTS ARMY
In 2020, which was an awful year for everyone, our activities are limited by the Covid-19. When I get bored, I just watch movies and youtube. At that time I found one of MV with the title “magic door” from Tinytan.
I just realized that it was an animation from BTS. I really like it. Tinytan look so cute. After that, I became curious about BTS and started watching their other music videos. I see that they’ve been through a long process and they are very starting from zero “0”. They had a lot of difficulties and their struggles have paid off. For me… BTS deserves to be where they are now ! Ya.. I became an “ARMY” because of Tinytan. This is that MV :
